Steve Borthwick gives 'max credit' to players after England's victory

Steve Borthwick has expressed delight following his side’s victory over Fiji on Sunday in the Rugby World Cup Quarter-Final.

 

Borthwick gave full credit to his players after a 30-24 victory over Fiji to give his side took a commanding lead in the tie before a heroic fightback from Fiji which wasn’t enough for the Flying Fijians. 


The fans gave the players and staff a mass of applause after the conclusion of the match as they all took the occasion in.


The England boss showed his sportsmanship nature by congratulating their opponents for their performance in the match. 


“We dealt with it well. I think it’s max credit to the players for dealing with it. 


“But what a performance from Fiji – not just in this game but in this World Cup. 


“What a great team they are, well coached and jam-packed full of world class talent. We knew it would be a tough game and it was.”
